EVALUATION PROCESS OF ARTICLES

Original theoretical manuscripts, original research papers, documents and comments, practices or manuscripts on practices, evaluation papers and book reviews which are in accordance with publication rules in terms of content and form and produced in the field of social sciences and humanities can be submitted to TUJFL for publication. Case studies, essays, homework, reports, translations, announcements etc. are not accepted.

The manuscripts submitted to the journal are supposed that they have not been published in any other media organ or simultaneously submitted to any other media organ to be published. Unpublished proceedings presented in a scientific meeting can be accepted to the journal as long as mentioning this situation.

The name of author/authors, titles, the name of institution, ORCID number, address, e-mail and phone number should be proved on a cover page. In line with the double blind review process, articles are sent to the referees without author name. The review process is completed if the article gets positive responses and accepted by the referees. After this process, the name of author/authors and necessary information are added to the first page of the article organized according to journal publication principles.

The manuscripts are primarily objectively evaluated by the editorial board in terms of its accordance with publishing principles of Trakya University Journal of Faculty of Letters and content, language and narrative competence etc. Editorial board can ask revisions from authors; revised articles are the reevaluated by the editorial board, which also have the direct rejection right of submitted manuscripts and articles.

Editors take similarity (plagiarism) reports for manuscripts through softwares (Ithenticate, Turnitin etc.). Manuscripts are evaluated in editorial board with these reports. In case of high similarity rates, they may be rejected in this step.

In case of an absence of a cause for rejection, manuscripts are sent to at least two referees who are experts in the field through double blind method (through removing the names and upper data of authors). Evaluation processes of manuscripts are conducted through double blind method in each step.

Referees are not paid for copyright fees.

Editorial board may assign new referee to replace the one failing to evaluate submitted manuscripts in due time.

Referees may decide as “can be published”, “can be published after revision”, “should be reviewed after revision” or “rejected”. Manuscripts should be resubmitted to the referee demanding review after revision.

Manuscripts successing referee evaluations are taken into final evaluation by the editorial board of Trakya University Journal of Faculty of Letters. Editorial board decides to publish or reject manuscripts with unanimity or large majority. The justification for the rejection of manuscripts are notified to their authors by the editor of the journal on behalf of editorial board. Rejected manuscripts will not be taken into reevaluation in future issues. For the accepted manuscripts, the suggestions of editorial board and referee reports are sent to the authors in order for them to give final forms to the manuscripts.

Manuscripts are published in the journal according to the application date and the completion order of publishing process.
